Two weeks later, I joyfully led also my mother to Christ. I gave her a similarly-inscribed Bible, which she kept all her life and read also in her last days. Plagued with Alzheimer's Disease in her old age, she then tore out the pages day by day and ate them — from my inscriptions up front,throughGenesis,andright down toJoshua! Why? Because,shethentold others, she had promised her son many years earlier that she would "feast" on the Bible every day! What is left of her Bible, is today one of my most precious possessions.
