Finally, Rev. Dr. Willie van der Merwe, Professor of Missiology, wrote that "Mr. Francis Nigel Lee was well-known to him during the four study years at the Theological Seminary. Mr. Lee is a hard-working, gifted Student. In the Department for which I am responsible — Missionary Science — he passed both his Candidate’s Examination and his Licentiate’s Examination with honours. In his Candidate’s Examination he achieved an average of 86% in the three missiological subjects, and in the Licentiate’s Examination he achieved an average of 89%. I also learned to know Mr. Lee as a man of principle, who acts from deep Christian convictions."
